I am running to support a St. Vital that is connected, resilient, and welcoming for everyone. Rooted in generations of family history and guided by an Indigenous worldview, I believe we have a responsibility to care for one another and the land we share. That means investing in youth before problems become crises, strengthening neighbourhood connections, improving transit and active transportation, preparing our infrastructure for the realities of climate change, supporting local businesses, and ensuring every resident—whether they live in a house, apartment, or condo—has access to safe streets, healthy green spaces, community gardens, and opportunities to thrive.

Together, we can build a St. Vital that honours its history while preparing confidently for the future.

Safe Communities Through Prevention

Support affordable after-school and recreation programming.

Build partnerships with schools, community centres, Indigenous organizations, and local nonprofits.

Invest in neighbourhood spaces that bring people together.

Improve lighting, maintenance, and community safety in public spaces.

Address the root causes of crime while supporting effective emergency services.

Support for intergenerational programs which bring seniors out of isolation to share their knowledge with young people.

Better Transportation for Everyone

I will advocate for neighbourhood feeder bus routes that connect residents to major transit corridors.

Improve transit accessibility for seniors, youth, and people with disabilities.

Complete missing links in St. Vital's bike lane network.

Create safer sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and active transportation routes.

Why the budget doubles for buying new buses, proves that the buses they have been buying are not worth the investment.

Petition scrap metal business to prevent bikes from being sold for scrap to mitigate bike theft in the City.

Strong Neighbourhoods and Local Prosperity

Support local businesses by improving accessibility and neighbourhood vitality.

Encourage the revitalization of neglected properties and infrastructure.

Preserve St. Vital's unique history while welcoming new families and businesses.

Listen to residents through regular community engagement and monthly town hall meetings.

Education and community consulations are needed to support development of new business in our Ward.

Climate Resilience and Environmental Stewardship

My Indigenous worldview teaches that we are caretakers of the land and that every decision we make today should consider the generations that follow. Climate change is not a future issue—it is already affecting Winnipeg through extreme weather, flooding, urban heat, and increasing pressure on our infrastructure.

My priority is clear, I will towards combating climate change by:

Expanding the urban tree canopy.

Planting food-bearing trees and community orchards where appropriate.

Supporting pollinator habitats and biodiversity.

Increasing green spaces that help reduce heat and improve public health.

Building climate resilience into neighbourhood planning.

Protecting our tree canopy is back in the budget for now. We must also create stronger bylaws for the approval to remove old standing trees which are non hazardous.

Implementation of Fruit bearing trees along our trail systems are needed to support access to fresh food in St. Vital. Gardens should not be a privilege.

Reliable Infrastructure for a Growing City

Maintaining and upgrading water and wastewater infrastructure.

Investing in roads, sidewalks, and drainage before failures become emergencies.

Preparing infrastructure for more frequent extreme weather events.

Improving neighbourhood resilience to flooding and stormwater challenges.

Making long-term infrastructure decisions that are fiscally responsible and environmentally sustainable.

With money in the budget and the Community Action Team working to put bandaids on pot holes, correct leaning signs and clear drainage, larger issues still exist and need attention.

Smarter Transportation and Infrastructure

Every day, St. Vital residents spend valuable time sitting at congested intersections and traffic bottlenecks. We should be using data and modern traffic management to improve how our roads work.

My priorities include:

Reviewing rush-hour traffic bottlenecks and intersection performance.

Optimizing traffic signal timing where appropriate to improve traffic flow.

Coordinating signal timing along major corridors to reduce unnecessary stops.

Improving bus reliability through better traffic management.

Designing intersections that are safe for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency vehicles.

Using data to guide transportation investments rather than relying on complaints alone.

2050 is not an acceptable timeline to support St. VItal Citizens travelling to the City centre for work.
